Taking time to smell the roses
As our pending move becomes a reality, I created a list of experiences I wanted to have before we moved. I wanted to eat in the gas station that has some of the best BBQ in the city. I wanted to sit in the irish pub that is a converted underground distillery. It hit me while walking around Loose park in the rose garden, that sometimes the best experiences we can have are doing simple things with people we have relationship with. The subject of friendship has surfaced a lot recently in my life. I think we live in a world that is hungry for deep and meaningful relationships. We all desire community but don’t know how to go about creating and maintaining meaninful relationships. I have been wrestling with the idea of friendhsips that are based on having an intentional purpose. I want to allow myself to be open to share my life with my friends and not let those friendships fade. I want to be completely present during the time I spend with my friends. I want to enjoy and smell every rose that relationship brings.
