Barefoot in paradise

Fijians are known for their warm hospitality. As soon as we stepped off the boat we were greated by smiling Fijiians. Welcome back home they said to us with a smile. Bula! A warm welcome to you!

We stayed in a wonderful bure (traditional Fijian home) that was a short walk through a garden from the beach. There was even great snorkeling on the reef right down the beach from our bure. It really is a beautiful paradise. After all, The Blue Lagoon was filmed on one of these very small islands. Fijians also enjoy singing acapella in harmony. They have a wonderful traditional greeting song and beautiful farewell song that they sing as you depart. A beautiful lush island of gardens surrounded by aqua waters and coral reefs begs to be walked around barefoot. So I kicked off my shoes and did just that.

Erica, you looked relaxing and pretty. After all the commotion of packing, moving, selling the condo, going through the airport security and long hour of flying, you deeply deserve a great vacation (they call it holiday). Enjoy it and have a great trip. Hope to see you in Tasmania soon.
