All I wanted was a Pepsi!
(If you get the heading, you’re cool.)
So, I’ve been drinking too much Pepsi lately. What does that mean? It means I’ve been working too much lately!
A depressing Saturday (broken Oxberry=no work for the day) was followed by a pretty cool Saturday night… Check out http://emsh.calarts.edu/~jhurlbut/hexagon/hex2.html to find out why.
Sunday, I decided to turn everything off (computer, palm pilot, cell phone, brain) to try to recoup my psyche. One day isn’t enough. Oh, well… Back to the week.
Back to the Pepsi.

No, it can't be an update... Can it?!
All right, so it’s been almost two months since my last update. What do you want already?!
The problem with being out of it for so long is just thinking of the right place to start. Let’s see…
The class I’m teaching is halfway through its semester. It’s going…well… It’s going. I’m still enjoying the teaching thing, but it’s been very difficult to get used to a lot of things that teachers have to get used to, I guess. I’ll let you know more in a bit.
CalArts is going great! I worked it out so that I’ll be graduating this Spring which makes me VERY happy. Now, all I have to do is complete my senior film! In the meantime, I’m T/Aing for a couple of teachers, trying to get all of my work done, etc., etc.
Last Friday was the world-infamous CalArts Halloween party, which I consciously didn’t attend. Last year’s party was cool, but just too much work. I heard it was cool, though — the band The Pharside played and shenanegans entailed.
Also on Friday, the visiting artist in one of my classes was Paul Thomas Anderson (HARD EIGHT, BOOGEYNIGHTS, MAGNOLIA). We watched MAGNOLIA and talked to him. Yeah.
Speaking of graduating, I’ve decided to apply to grad school. So far, after a bunch of research, I’ve boiled it down to reapplying to CalArts and also applying to Columbia. I’ll keep you posted on this too.
So, a couple of posts back, I mentioned updating the pictures on the site. I haven’t yet. I hope to find time soon.
One set of pictures would be from my sister’s wedding, which was awesome. I can’t believe I didn’t give her her own post. Sorry, Amie! She and her husband Matt just got back from a two month honeymoon if you can believe that! The drove up and down the Western coast in a Volkswagen bus — just like a couple of hippies. Now, they’re back, trying to acclimate to normal life again. Good luck.
What else? The company I used to work for has just been acquired by TDK. This month, their name will change from Sound Source Interactive to TDK Mediactive. Maybe my stocks will actually be worth something now!
I’ve been doing a lot of freelance work. Too much. My latest job has been fun — teaching a company how to use Dreamweaver. Yay!
Oh, I didn’t mention! I did finish my new CD a while back and it has been in mp3.com’s top 10 for electronic bands for over a month now! (This is for CD sells, not downloads!) Woohoo! If you want to check it out, head over to http://www.mp3.com/adkoc. I’ll like you if you do.
Well, I know that’s not all that has happened in the last couple of months, but I’m drawing a blank. I’ll come up and add more if I can think of anything.
Later!
