"Success vs. Fruitfulness"

I know I quote the here a lot, but this one was just too good to pass up:

Bruderhof“Success vs. Fruitfulness”
Henri J. M. Nouwen

We have been called to be fruitful—not successful, not productive, not accomplished. Success comes from strength, stress, and human effort. Fruitfulness comes from vulnerability and the admission of our own weakness.

I got my Daily Dig and was going to post Nouwen as well. It speaks to the fundamental issue of those of us who call Christ home. How to navigate success in Him with success here in this world. Good post for the day.

I was going to post this, too, so that makes three of us that were really impacted by it. I guess great minds think alike! What a great way to gear my thinking this morning, especially since I’m going out to promote my business today. Way to post the good stuff, Tim!

Are you writing sermons for Tim Keel now?

Ha ha ha! :-) Right… No, as you can see, a number of us all had the same idea. And, if I hadn’t have posted this quote such a short time ago, I would have also posted another that came to my Inbox this weekend.
