Quick question...
Ok, so I walk bast this particular creek almost everyday on my way to work. The other day, I was walking past a little dammed-up area and happened to look at the water trapped inside…
I don’t know. You tell me… Does this look right to you?
Something tells me that some regulations in this part of Kansas City may be a little lax… Or is it just me?

Does that look soapy or something? Certainly looks weird, but hard to tell by the picture.
A creek near our house when we lived in Atlanta looked just as bad sometimes. Trash and oily film on top, concentrated in the summertime when it almost dried out (no soapy look, though). Still, a healthy looking toad found its way to our house once…

That doesn’t look weird to you, Swan? I mean, it’s fluorescent green with a weird white film floating on the surface (if you didn’t, click on the picture to see a better view).
Glad the toads are surviving where you are… I don’t know if they would here.

Oh, it DOES look weird. Pictures do deceive though, sometimes, because the colors often appear different than they are in reality. And the white film wasn’t so obvious. But after your decription in the comment I’m sure that it’s yucky
.
I was very surprised about the toad as well! And it was the only one we ever saw. I don’t live there anymore, btw.

i was gonna ask if the water was as neon looking as it looks over here in the pic.. creepy. have you called the water dept or anyone about it?

Yeah, it’s pretty neon looking. The white film no top isn’t as prominent in the picture though — that’s what really looked sickening; very mucusy.
No, I haven’t called anyone about it yet.
