Informatio:

Have you e-mailed me today?

Will today just go ahead and end?

To add to my some of the things that sucked today list, this morning, I realized that e-mail wasn’t getting to me for some reason… It wasn’t just that my e-mail client wasn’t downloading the mail, but, rather, that the mail was never reaching the Inbox on my webhost‘s server. Soon after figuring this out, I e-mailed my webhost to ask what was up. I was assuming that they’d be able to fix the problem and then all of my e-mail would come pouring in… Wrong. As of 3:21pm, this afternoon, the e-mail problem has been resolved, but no old e-mail (mailed between, oh, say, 6:00am and 3:21pm) has arrived. And, it probably never will…

So, if you attempted to e-mail me at some point today and never got a response, this is why. Please re-send your e-mail and I will receive it promptly.

Dude, this was the first day in the 2+ years I’ve been with 1 & 1 that I wanted to dump them. Or at least scream really loudly. I think I finally got at least most of my email from today, although no email makes it difficult to run a web development company…Did you hear their recorded message on the helpdesk line? What a joke…

Actually, the protocols governing email are that if the sending server can’t deliver it to your server, it will place it in a queue and try again later – if not resolved, it will eventually give up and bounce it back to the sender. If your domain or mailbox doesn’t exist on the mailserver, it will get bounced immediately… dunno what the problem was, but odds are after a few hours it’ll clear up and you’ll miss nothing.

Yeah, it looks like most of my “lost” e-mail started rolling in sometime last night. How annoying, though.

And, I would currently be with 1&1.com except that I was able to get in on their three years for free deal — I’ve got about one year left, so I figure I’ll deal with it.

As for the message… No, I didn’t hear it. I did get a lame e-mail from them saying that they created the message though… Wha?! :-p

Let’s have a post about “LOST”. How was it?

Alas, last night we were participating in small group and our VCR decided not to switch channels when Lost came on… Bummer. BUT, I am currently downloading the episode in order to burn onto a DVD, so I’ll let you know tomorrow. ;-)
