Weekend pic(k)s...

My weekend in California…

Rocio & Bill's Wedding, Pic #1

Above is what looks like on the inside. The leather seats are over-sized and quite comfortable. I highly recommend this airline company to anyone (even if they didn’t serve the fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies).

The sprawl that is Los Angeles. In the last photo, you’ll see a view that is much more appealing for me to fly into (but, I know that’s only my opinion).

“Valley” living at it’s best. I never actually lived in the Valley myself, but I had a girlfriend who did once. (Again, I have my opinions…) On Friday, Bill and I visited Rocio’s apartment to move the last of her stuff out.

Bill and I made an obligatory stop into my favorite sushi joint in the world, . The below photo is of a special dish that Tak (one of Kaminari’s master chefs) made for us. Often, we ask Tak to come up with something from his imagination and this is what he created: sort of an asparagus tempura/spicy white fish plate. Tak didn’t know what to call it, so Bill and I dubbed it “Wedding Tempura.” Anyway, Tak is thinking about moving here to Kansas City to become a dog groomer!

And, here are Rocio & Bill at the rehearsal dinner, just hours before their wedding. I’m going to remember this picture of the happy couple, because the last one I took of them wasn’t quite so…sober.

Rocio & Bill's Wedding, Pic #6

My mother and father at the wedding reception. I’m not posting any photos here, but, man, can my mom cut a rug.

The sons of Thousand Oaks/Moorpark punk rock: (the infamous) , Allen, and me. We swang , we swang , we swang , and we swang ... Now, look at us. I don’t think my pink vest would have gone over well when we were younger. Anyway, we were sitting around laughing about how we all listen to the same bands that we did when we were kids. Music just isn’t the same.

And, finally… I’m back home. Flying into farmland just feels so much more…pleasant.

Update: You can see some of my more “artistic” photos here.
