Why's everbody always picking on me?
I never mentioned this here before, but just before Josiah was born, my wife and I forked out $2000 for a second car.
If you’ll remember, I was riding the bus for quite some time. When I got a new job, I couldn’t ride the bus anymore (I think I could have worked out a route to get down here, but it probably would have taken a couple of hours and more than five bus transfers), but we were able to make it work with one car for quite some time. The coming birth of our child finally forced us to make the decision to buy another car.
This morning, my car was stolen. More importantly — and most likely the reason why the car was broken into in the first place — my iPod was stolen with it (I stupidly left it sitting in the cup holder on my center console). The only other items of “value” were a really cool — and expensive — baby seat, and a bag of cement mortar in the trunk.
This is actually the second car that I’ve had stolen — the first was a Toyota pickup. (Why me?!)
Please pray that the police are able to find my car in good shape. We really can’t afford another car right now. My wife will be able to take the bus to work and I’ll be able to drive our other car, but it will be difficult to work around the fact that we have a baby and we need to have easy, convenient transportation.
I’m probably mourning the loss of my iPod the most. I have grown to love it — and there were a few files on it that are now lost forever.
