Will a hip replacement make me cool?
Bad news, folks.
I got the results back from my MRI yesterday. Not only do I have severe AVN (avascular necroses) in my left hip, but my right hip is catching up fast. This was completely unexpected news (the addition of the second hip, that is) and I’m still trying to come to terms with it all.
In any case (my emotional state notwithstanding), this most likely means that I will have to undergo a bilateral THR (total hip replacement). In other words, both of my hips are going to be swapped out for something new.
All of this has gotten me thinking about the aftermath of my heart attack a couple of years ago. Begin that it wasn’t caused by heart disease is a good thing, of course, but it still forced e to struggle with my own mortality quite a bit. I think I’m starting to plunge into those thoughts again. I’m trying not to, though.
Still, here are some of the thoughts I was thinking back then. Of course, they still apply…

Scott ~ I assume that the hip joints will be pretty beat up. If not, I’ll see what I can do.

I am only posting what I am about to type because you gave me permission to
...ask the doctor’s if they can save the ball joints – let’s hollow them out and have shots – ball joints make great shot glasses?
